Freelance Italian-to-English translator I have been translating Italian to English since 2000. I translate magazines, books, catalogues, web sites, marketing materials and academic writings for a wide range of clients, including publishers, businesses and individuals. My specialist sectors include design, art, architecture, social sciences and tourism.
Originally from Oregon, I graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in 1996 with a Bachelor’s of Liberal Arts with focuses on cultural anthropology and foreign languages.
I studied in Florence in 1994 at the Sarah Lawrence program in Florence and at the University of Florence.
In addition to Italian, I speak and read (but do not translate) French and Dutch.
For a price quote, please send me the document you would like translated. I offer discounted prices for non-profits (for causes I deem good). Others looking for budget translations are advised to go elsewhere. Read my advice on choosing a translator. When possible, I prefer to work directly with authors by email or Skype (user name: miriamhurley). I charge extra for urgency, non-Word documents and bratty clients. I accept payments through wire transfer to U.S. or Italian accounts, U.S. checks or PayPal.
